The photo exhibition What We Leave Behind explores the feelings that leaving things behind evokes. Not all objects hold the same significance to us, and we leave some things behind when we move from one place to another. In various situations, memories, emotions, and experiences are left behind. Our names may change, our homes or houses may change, or our relationships may end, but all of these still leave some kind of mark. The exhibition challenges us to think about which places ultimately matter to each of us.

Jonna Pennanen is a photographic artist who has studied in England and currently works in Helsinki. Pennanen is particularly interested in themes of memory, transitional spaces, and the transience of things. Depicting the absent is a recurring theme in her work.
