MAD HOUSE 3. SEASON
5.2.-30.4.2016, Tiivistämö (building 5), Suvilahti

The third season of Mad House launches on Cabaret Voltaire's 100-year anniversary, 5 February 2016, in true observance of Dada holidays. Tickets to the whole season are now available from Lippupiste! You can purchase tickets for individual performances or a season ticket, which enables you to attend the entire programme!

The third season features the premiere of Laura Murtomaa and Sonya Lindfors's duo performance Pas de Deux as well as the international co-production Klockricketeater's 3 Musketeers - East of Vienna. After it premiers in Tallinn at the end of January, the audio-visual installation 2341 AD by Juha Valkeapää, Rentzo Van Steenbergen and Emer Värk will run here in Finland. Mad House revisits history with Liisa Pentti + Co.'s reconstruction of their performance La Folia, originally occuring in 1993.

In March, Mad House takes on the theme of trans-visibility, trans-welfare and gender diversity on behalf of the activist group Transforces, who has designed an impressive festival involving artists Teemu Mäki, Pia Lindy, Valto Kuuluvainen, Jamie MacDonald, Martu Väisänen, Michiel Tange van Leuuwen (DK / NL), Anna-Stina Treumund (EE), Christian Van Schijndel (DK / UK), Jørgen Callesen (DK), Carlo Størup (DK) and Bo Hagen Clausen (DK), as well as the local trans community.

The Mad House programme in 2016 reflects the 100th anniversary of Dada. In connection with the opening ceremony, we present two works by Heikki Saure. In early March, the artists Sándor Vály and Jovanka Trbojevic present their Dada-inspired work in two evenings. The whole season will culminate in April's three-day event, the Neodada festival or the Conference on redefining everything.

Ihana Bar will continue to serve as Mad House's social centre and meeting place. The bar is open from Wednesday to Saturday. The Serious Introspection live talk show continues, now on Wednesdays at 21.00 (or following the main performances). The Feminist stand-up comedy evenings, hosted by Jamie MacDonald, take place three times this spring. Ihana Bar also hosts the performance Talking Head by Janne Saarakkala.
