International Contemporary Theatre Festival Baltic Circle takes place in Helsinki November 14–19.

Motus: MDLSX
MDLSX is an explosive sound device, a lysergic and solitary hymn to the freedom of becoming, to gender b(l)ending, to a being that cannot be contained within the borders of the body, skin color, sexual organs, or boundaries of national identity. By blurring fiction and reality MDLSX weaves together a kaleidoscopic queer universe. Autobiographical bits and literary evocations come together in a tour de force that exists on the edges; visible and invisible, physical and emotional, splendid and monstrous.

Reality Research Center: Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty is a participatory performance that approaches sexuality through power and role play. The performance offers an opportunity to carry out fantasies with a "sleeping" person. The participant can choose to be either the sleeper or the visitor, and bring along gears, accessories or props to one's liking. The performers will be present at the festival club where audience members can converse with them about their fantasies and the possibility of making them happen. When mutual understanding is met, the participant can purchase a ticket for the show and move into an intimate, calm space for the encounter.

The individual works by Pauliina Feodoroff, Maryan Abdulkarim and S. Nousiainen aim to unravel the conditions where something as fragile and comprehensive as a sense of self can or could be born.
