British documentary photographer Adam Monaghan has spent three years capturing the people and urban landscape of Suvilahti neighbourhood. A selection of his pictures, shot on 35 mm black and white film, will be exhibited at Södervik Gallery.

The exhibition will be opened in Planet Suvilahti event on the Night of the Arts 17.8.2023 at 18-20.

From skateboarders and graffiti artists to revellers at the Flow Festival - Monaghan’s pictures provide a lasting record of an important section of Helsinki life and landscape that may disappear with the forthcoming development of the area.

Some of the works have previously been published in the journal Humanity by The Centre for British Documentary Photography and recently featured in newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet.
