Helsinki celebrates its birthday again on Helsinki Day, June 12th, 2026!
The area around the Gas Holder comes alive with an evening where urban culture, community spirit and rhythms go hand in hand. All events are free of charge and open to all ages.
Interactive Helsinki Day Quiz, Tiivistämö (Building 5)
- Open at 15–15:45
- Follow the exciting competition at Tiivistämö or watch it live on the Helsinki Channel. This feel-good quiz is interactive, and audience members can participate via the Seppo.io app. The quiz will be held in Finnish and Swedish. Hukkapuisto Community Planting Event, Energiakenttä
- Open at 16–18
- Join us on Helsinki Day to plant new greenery in Suvilahti’s Hukkapuisto community garden! We’ll have music playing, the grill heating up, and new edible plants ready for planting. Gardeners from Blokgarden will also be on hand to share gardening tips. Refreshments and vegetarian sausages will be served from 17 onwards.
SÄILIÖ Junior, Tiivistämö (Building 5)

- Everyone’s favourite DJ Sateenkaarivelho returns to host another SÄILIÖ Junior party, joined by the excellent DJ D.N.A. Recommended for children aged 3–10, but dancers of all ages are welcome. Please leave strollers outside the hall so everyone has room to dance.
BACKYARD FAMILY RAVE with Rony Rex and Alec Hall, Tiivistämö Terrace (Building 5)

- Get ready to dance as the Backyard Family Rave takes over the terrace! Two DJs perform back-to-back alongside their children. Welcome to celebrate together!
Funky Amigos Garden Party, Yläpuutarha
- Open at 17–22
- An open picnic party for everyone! The soundtrack for the evening comes from renowned Funky Amigos DJs SoulllJay, O.T. Almighty and Magic Sam, joined by guest DJs Kenno and Jesper Aisti. A gas barbecue will be available for visitors to grill their own food, and long tables and benches will be provided for dining and relaxing.
SÄILIÖ, Teräksinen kaasukello

- An electronic music event in true SÄILIÖ style. Experience a lovingly crafted event and a unique community atmosphere.
SUMMER BASS TERRACE by DNB Finland and DJ Academy Helsinki, Tiivistämö Terrace (Building 5)
- Open at 19–00
- The traditional Helsinki Day collaboration event returns as bass music takes over the Tiivistämö terrace. Expect garage, dubstep and drum & bass throughout the evening. DJs: UEL B2B DJ Breik, DREAMER, RIEKKO, More TBA. Come and experience the power of the bass drum!
Suvilahti Sounds: Sirpa & Myöhäset, Raakasaga and Whereismike, Tiivistämö (Building 5)

- A rap showcase featuring Sirpa & Myöhäset, Raakasaga, and 2024 YleX Breakthrough Artist Whereismike.
