Cirko organises the festival for the 10th time. Since 2006, the festival has established itself as the largest annual new circus festival in the Nordic countries. The festival presents highlights of contemporary circus from Finland as well as abroad. Last year Cirko Festival attracted 6,500 visitors.

Ilona Jäntti is the featured artist of Cirko Festival
Two shows in one night: Namesake is a piece is about strength, beauty and endurance. Ilona Jäntti does not from come from a circus family, or even from a family of artists. Through this piece she honours her own family and her personal history with circus. Gangewifre is a project that transforms its shape according to the venue.

Finnish new circus pioneers Circo Aereo ja WHS
Circo Aereo brings two shows in one night: Mandarin & Désertée. Mandarin is a tribute to traditional Chinese circus, Désertée is a funny and beautiful series of very stupid acts.

At the core of Agit-Cirks Sceno are the personalities of four circus artists and their approaches to their craft.

Zero Gravity Company's In Other Words is a performance about feelings and emotions, love and pain. The piece will have its domestic premiere at Stoa Cultural Centre.

International visitors from France and Australia
A delicious blend of juggling, dance and physical theatre, the Compagnie Defracto’s Flaque is like butoh mixed with slapstick. The audiences will be left wondering whether it is the ball that controls the performer or vice versa.

French ensemble La Meute will be bringing to the Finnish National Theatre’s Main Stage their eponymous production La Meute (The Pack).

The KAge’s FORKLIFT is a breathtaking performance that combines choreography, contortion and aerial acrobatics on, and around, a working 2.5 tonne forklift.
